Merit Loyalty Suite

Merit Banking extends the core capabilities of Merit Loyalty Suite® to support the implementation of our loyalty management strategy for the Banking and Financial Services industries.

Stand-alone or Joined

Programs

Merit Banking provides the facilities for launching bank-operated, merchant-operated or coalition loyalty programs. For example, a bank-operated credit card program may reward customers for their transactions with the bank, while a partner merchant will provide additional, differentiated rewards for shopping at the merchant’s stores. Merit Banking supports multiple redemption methods, from direct cash-back methods to gift redemption at partner merchants, controlling the overall redemption cost of a points-based loyalty program.

Multi-level Rewards for Issuing

and Acquiring Loyalty

Merit Banking supports a sophisticated multi-level reward structure to overcome the Banking Institutions’ limited control of purchases performed at retail outlets.

In this multi-level environment, operators are rewarded for facilitating transactions via the bank’s POS in addition to the customer’s reward. Such rewards can be differentiated by merchant, operator or location, supplying the banker with a simple and effective tool for negotiating merchant relationships and for boosting both issuing and acquiring revenue.

Product and Channel

Integration

Merit Banking supports all banking products (credit and debit cards, loans and mortgages, deposits and investments, insurance and leasing) and provides interfaces with a variety of front-end technologies, including credit authorization systems, ATMs, kiosks, call centers, mobile telephony and the Internet. It integrates banking transactions from any source and of any type in a unified format to award customer loyalty points, but most importantly, to formulate a holistic view of customer behavior.

Promotion of Preferred

Behavior

By offering rich promotional functionality, Merit Banking painlessly resolves one of the industry’s most vexing challenges: how to concurrently promote diverse products, of varying profitability, under multiple lines of business, through multiple channels.

Merit Banking provides the ability to define promotions at the line of business, product type, transaction category, or channel level, irrespective of the transaction's source, enticing customers to use the most profitable products, through the most profitable channels.
For example, a promotion may be designed to encourage consistency of card balance payments in parallel with rewards for purchase transactions. Moreover, the promotion may be refined to increase rewards for timely payments through electronic channels, bearing the least administrative overhead.

Industry Segmentation

Parameters

Merit Banking sustains Merit Loyalty Suite's design philosophy of improving profitability through intelligent segmentation.

The ability to segment customers based on their actual behavior is one of the core ideas established by Merit Loyalty Suite’s Intelligence.  Introducing Merit Banking significantly increases the options for customer segmentation by adding demographic and behavioral parameters required by the banking industry. For example, the credit card payment method is of significant interest to credit card managers, hence becoming a Merit Intelligence segmentation and promotional parameter. Other industry-specific parameters include customer financial status and credit risk, delinquency and family life-cycle stage.  These parameters can be used in combination with standard ones, such as frequency and level of spending, to provide insights in customer banking behavior.

Banking Loyalty Economics The extended capabilities of Merit Banking go hand-in-hand with our expertise in developing solid financial models; a must for measuring loyalty economics in the banking environment.
